This internal disease is often accompanied by affections of the skin. Next to an increased risk of infections patients suffer mainly from dry skin. Particularly at the feet the skin can be rough and scaly. Subsequently developing cracks can serve as a point of entrance for bacteria. An infection of the leg may occur.

To avoid skin complication a consequent and diligent application of skin care products is strongly advisable. Creams and lotions with urea (i) and lactate equalize the lack of natural moisturizing factors (i) and lead to a recovery of the skin barrier.

Caution: Cracks, itching or moistness between the spaces of the toes or scaling on the sole of the foot can be a first sign of a fungal infection. In this case you should consult a dermatologist.
